Abstract

V tej nalogi smo s termalnimi satelitskimi podatki opazovali jamske vhode. V prvem delu naloge so predstavljeni program Landsat in značilnosti satelita Landsat 8. Drugi del predstavlja praktični del naloge, kjer so izbrani primerni jamski vhodi in termalni satelitski posnetki.

Secondary title: Observing cave entrances with thermal satellite data
Secondary abstract: Thermal satellite images show thermal radiation of Earth's surface and are useful in many fields. Their advantage is that the data capture is non-contact, comprehensive and periodical, which enables comparing the data through time. In this master thesis we observed cave entrances with thermal satellite images. First part of thesis presents the programme Landsat and characteristics of the satellite Landsat 8. Process of ground temperature determination is described in general and for different land usage. Karst caves have special microclimate which is dependent of many factors. We defined the characteristics of cave entrances that are important for this master thesis. Second part presents practical work where we have chosen suitable cave entrances and thermal satellite images. With the latter we observed temperatures of cave entrances compared to their surroundings and created two perpendicular cross profiles. Because cave's climate change through the year, we processed summer and winter images. The analysis of results shows that there at some cave entrances there is a temperature anomaly. But that can also be related to the relief. At most cave entrances there are no temperature differences which we expected.
