Saša Jagrič (Author), Janko J. Zadravec (Mentor)

Abstract

Secondary abstract: My Master thesis introduces the design of the Tokyo Music Centre in Japan. The object will be situated in the very centre of the largest metropolitan in the world, in the district Shibuya, a meeting spot for tourists and young Japanese. The vivid nightlife of the area is in favour of the music centre which will represent a new icon of the district, increase its recognisability and attract more tourists. The main focus of my thesis is on the hall’s acoustics which follows the guidelines for acoustics in the halls. Therefore, the features of the sound are studied first in order to understand the effects of acoustics. Moreover, the importance of the object integration and interaction with the Japanese culture is also discussed.
