Abstract

V diplomskem delu predstavljamo pripravo modela na 3D-tisk. V prvem delu smo preleteli zgodovino tiska. Predstavili smo tehnologijo 3D-tiska ter različne tehnike tiskanja, ki jih uporabljajo določeni tiskalniki. V nadaljevanju smo pregledali različne tipe 3D-tiskalnikov, ki se uporabljajo za domačo ali komercialno uporabo ter izpostavili njihove prednosti in slabosti. V zadnjem delu diplomskega dela smo na praktičnem primeru 3D-modela hiše prikazali proces priprave modela za 3D-tisk. Pri delu smo razpoznali ključne lastnosti pri pripravi modela na tisk kot so: nevodotesnost, orientacija normal in nezadostna debelina stranic. Vse te težave smo odstranili pred procesom tiska. Natisnjen izdelek smo nato predstavili.

Secondary title: PREPARING MODELS FOR 3D - PRINTING
Secondary abstract: The process of preparing models for 3-D printing is shown in the diploma work. In the first part we went through the history of 3-D printing. We presented the technology of 3-D printing and various methods used by specific printers. Then we looked through the different types of 3-D printers, which are used for home or commercial use, pointing out their strengths and weaknesses. In the last part of the diploma work we showed the process of preparing a model for 3-D printing on a practical example of 3-D house model. During the process we identified key characteristics in preparation of the model for 3-D printing such as: non-manifold issues, orientation of normal and insufficient thickness of the walls. All these problems were removed prior to the printing process. Printed product was then presented.
