Abstract

Živimo v času, ko je porast števila spletnih aplikacij in njihovih uporabnikov povzročila pravo podatkovno eksplozijo. Nastali situaciji relacijske podatkovne baze niso več kos, kar je povzročilo razvoj podatkovnih baz nove generacije, t.i. NoSQL podatkovnih baz. V diplomskem delu smo tako želeli ugotoviti, ali v primeru moderne spletne aplikacije z uporabo NoSQL podatkovne baze dosežemo boljše rezultate pri obdelavi podatkov. Najprej smo predstavili podatkovni model in njegovo preslikavo v podatkovne sheme posamičnih podatkovnih baz. Nato smo podatkovne baze napolnili s testnimi podatki in nad njimi izvedli teste, s katerimi smo poskušali simulirati delovanje moderne spletne aplikacije. V zaključnem delu smo opravili analizo in povzetek dobljenih rezultatov.

Secondary title: Performance analysis of the MongoDB database
Secondary abstract: We live in a time when the increase in number of web applications and their users caused a real data explosion. Relational databases can no longer cope with the resulting situation, which caused the development of a new generation of databases, so called NoSQL databases. In this thesis, we wanted to determine whether, in the case of modern web applications, we can achive better results in data processing with the use of NoSQL database. First, we presented a data model and its mapping to the data schemes of individual databases. Then we filled the databases with test data and carrier out tests, with which we tried to simulate the functionality of a modern web application. In the final part, we conducted an analysis and summary of the obtained results.
