Abstract

V ta namen smo najprej podali pregled električnih vozil skozi zgodovino, njihovo sestavo in način delovanja.

Secondary title: Economic feasibility of electric vehicle use: the case of food delivery company from the city of Maribor
Secondary abstract: The present diploma thesis explores whether it is feasible for a food delivery company from Maribor to replace the conventional delivery vehicle with an electric one. To this end, we first provide a brief overview of electric vehicles throughout history, their structure and mode of operation. We then describe different types and characteristics of batteries and the electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Maribor. Using a GPS device, measurements were carried out, the current situation was outlined and a critical analysis from the logistic, economic and environmental viewpoint was offered. Following the interpretation of calculations and comparisons, the primary hypothesis was confirmed. We found that after two years, the electric vehicle is more cost-effective. Moreover, the electric vehicle is also less environmentally problematic as electricity production causes far less CO2 emissions compared to emissions produced by the internal combustion engine. Finally, we conclude that an electric vehicle would be a viable alternative for a conventional one, would produce a smaller ecological footprint and improve the image of the company.
