Abstract
V magistrskem delu smo ugotavljali, če lahko uporabimo mikroračunalnik Raspberry Pi (RPi) kot nizkocenovni merilni vmesnik za izvedbo bioloških laboratorijskih vaj. V magistrskem delu je prikazana izgradnja prototipa, programiranje, nastavitev RPi za meritve in njegovo končno testiranje. Merilni vmesnik smo sestavili s preko spleta (www.ebay.com) kupljenimi merilniki najugodnejših ponudnikov, ki smo jih na RPi povezali preko razvijalne ploščice do namenskih vhodno-izhodnih priklopov. Na spletu smo poiskali dvojček programskih kod, ki so namenjene vremenski postaji. Po rahli modifikaciji sta bili uporabljeni kot programski kodi, ki postavita RPi v vlogo merilnega vmesnika. Končni izdelek je bil tako v obliki izdelanega prototipa razširitvene ploščice za Raspberry Pi, ki skupaj s programsko opremo in računalnikom Raspberry Pi postane merilni vmesnik. Tako nastali merilni vmesnik je bil testiran na treh, za dotični vmesnik spremenjenih laboratorijskih vajah. Ugotovili smo, da lahko RPi uporabimo kot merilni vmesnik za nekaj osnovnih bioloških laboratorijskih vaj. Nastal vmesnik ima prosta razširitvena mesta za priklop dodatnih merilnikov, ki ima potencial, da se ga z modifikacijo programske kode spremeni v zastonjski polnopravni konkurent večjim ponudnikom tovrstnih izdelkov.

The master thesis demonstrates use of the microcomputer Raspberry Pi (RPi) as a relatively low cost data logger for scientific experiments in biology. In the thesis the whole procedure of making the prototype expansion board, programming the Rpi, including final testing is presented. Data logger was made from parts bought from sellers on Ebay (www.ebay.com) at lowest available price. We connected them via breadboard to general purpose input/output connectors that can be found on Rpi. Via web search analysis we found two separate open source program codes which were originally intended for using RPi as a weather station. We modified them to be exploited as a data logger. The final product is a prototype expansion module that works with Raspberry Pi as a data logger. We used the final prototype to successfully realize three separate laboratory experiments. These cases demonstrate that the prototype could be efficiently exploited as a data logger for various basic experiments in biology. Prototype data logger has several inputs to which additional sensors could be connected. The prototype has potential to rival several commercially available models with some additional programing. |
