Abstract

V prvem delu besedilo obravnava omejitve znanstvenih interpretacij narave. Standardnim epistemološkim težavam se pridružuje padanje zaupanja v znanost (tehnologijo), kar je vsaj deloma paradoksalna posledica individualne in institucionalne refleksivnosti (post)moderne družbe. Deloma izpraznjene interpretacijske oz. legitimizacijske zmožnosti nadomeščajo nove, dejansko reciklirane novodobne (new age) ideje. V drugem delu besedilo obravnava staro, toda še vedno odprto vprašanje 'narave' v urbanem prostoru.

Secondary abstract: The first part of the text deals with the limits of the scientific interpretation of nature. Standard epistemological problems combine with descending trust in science (technology). This is to a certain extent a paradoxical consequence of individual and institutional reflexivity in (post)modern society. The partly exhausted interpretation and legitimisation capacities are in the process of being replaced by new, in fact recycled 'new age' ideas. In the second part the text deals with the old but still unresolved question of 'nature' and the urban space. The text deals with some frequently mentioned and transparent problems in settling the conflict between the artificial, built environment and romantic nostalgic images of living in the 'natural' environment. At the end the text attempts to answer the dilemma of whether an urban-nature discussion is at all possible without producing an anti-urban result at the same time.
