Abstract

Metodologija raziskovanja. Z deskriptivno in analitično metodo dela smo želeli ugotoviti, kako so prostitutke seznanjene s SPB, kje o tovrstni tematiki pridobijo podatke in če so seznanjene z ukrepi v primeru okužbe. V ta namen smo anketirali naključno izbrane prostitutke na območju Mestne občine Maribor. Rezultati raziskovanja. Ugotovili smo, da so prostitutke premalo seznanjene o SPB. Večina prostitutk ne pozna dovolj dobro spolno prenosljivih bolezni. Med spolnim odnosom redno uporabljajo zaščito, najpogosteje kondom. V primeru okužbe so dobro seznanjene, kako ukrepati in kje poiskati pomoč. Sklep. SPB pri prostitutkah je še zmeraj tema, kateri zdravstveno osebje posveča premalo časa in pozornosti. Ozaveščenost prostitutk o spolno prenosljivih boleznih in spolni vzgoji ima velik pomen za varno spolnost in varovanje reproduktivnega zdravja prostitutk in življenj drugih.

Secondary title: PROSTITUTION AS A MEDICAL PROBLEM
Secondary abstract: Although the prostitution in Slovenia does not pose a socially disturbing problem it is still morally and ethically questionable to one part of the society. And sexually transmissible diseases (STD) are a topic for discussion when speakers feel unpleasant talking about. The number of prostitutes who have been affected by STD is rising steeply primarily because of a lack of people awareness and there is too little emphasis on sex education. Medical institutes where experts are dealing with assessment, treatment and prevention of STD are becoming more and more important. Methodology: By using the descriptive and analytical methods we wanted to find out how much the prostitutes know about STD, where can they gain information about that topics and if they are informed about the actions in case of infection. For that purpose we interviewed randomly selected prostitutes in the area of Maribor municipality. Results: The prostitutes are not instructed enough. The majority of prostitutes do not have enough knowledge about STD. They use protection during sexual intercourse, usually a condom. They are well informed in case of infection and where to find help. Conclusion: Prostitutes and STD are still being the two topics the medical staff and prostitutes give too little attention to. Making prostitutes aware of STD and sex education has a great significance for a safe sex and the protection of the reproductive health of prostitutes and the lives of others.
