Abstract
Krožno križišče je križišče krožne oblike, kjer promet poteka okoli sredinskega otoka v nasprotni smeri urinega kazalca. Prednosti krožnih križišč so, da so varnejša, umirjajo promet, imajo manj konfliktnih točk, pretok prometa je bolj učinkovit, posledica česar je manj hrupa in ostalih emisij, stroški vzdrževanja pa so nizki. Ko križišče katerega od teh kriterijev ne izpolnjuje več, je potrebna rekonstrukcija.
Magistrska naloga predstavlja varnostno problematiko obstoječega dvopasovnega krožnega križišča v Velenju. Narejeni sta bili podrobna analiza obstoječega stanja ter analiza prometnih nesreč, podana pa sta tudi dva predloga projektnih rešitev, in sicer krožno križišče s spiralnim potekom krožnega vozišča (»turbo« krožno križišče) ter krožno križišče s pritisnjenimi pasovi za desno zavijanje (»flower« krožno križišče).
Po ovrednotenju projektnih rešitev z globalnimi kriteriji smo ugotovili, da je najprimernejša rešitev v našem primeru krožno križišče s spiralnim potekom krožnega vozišča oz. »turbo« krožno križišče.

A roundabout is a road junction in which road traffic flows around a central island in a counterclockwise direction. The benefits of roundabouts are that they are safer, they calm the traffic, there are fewer conflict points, the traffic flow is more efficient, the pollution and fuel useage are reduced, and the maintanance costs are low. When the intersection fails to meet any of these criteria, a reconstruction is necessary.
The paper presents the safety issues of an existing two-lane roundabout in Velenje. A detailed analysis of the existing situation and a traffic accident analysis have been made as well as two proposed design solutions, namely the roundabout with the spiral course of the circulatory carriageway (or the »turbo roundabout«), and the roundabout with »depressed« lanes for right turning (or the »flower roundabout«).
After evaluating both design solutions with the global criteria we determined that the most appropriate solution in our case is the roundabout with the spiral course of the circulatory carriageway or the »turbo roundabout«. |
