(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Uporabili smo kvantitativno metodologijo z deskriptivno metodo dela.
Le ta velikokrat presega njihovo znanje in kompetence.

KNOWLEDGE AND USE OF MEDICATION IN EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT |
Secondary abstract: |
Medication administration is one of the most important and fundamental tasks for paramedic in his daily job. It is of utmost importance that they have enough adequate knowledge from this area. In the process of medication use it is always necessary to protect quality, safety and effectiveness with consistent compliance of ''10P'' good practice of medication administration. The main task of administration therapy, paramedics, with doctors order, want to achieve relief of acute paine which usually treatens patiens lives. Paramedics take responsibility for interventions they do on a patient although they often exceed their work jurisdition.
The purpose of this thesis is to introduce medication and their use in the emergency medical treatment and find out with a survey, knowledge and use of medications by paramedics.
We used quantitative methodology with descriptive method. We gathered information with anonymous polls with questions closed and open type, which 60 employees in the emergency medical treatment facility fulfill.
The results have shown that paramedics deal with different medications. Most common are painkillers, reanimation medication and antihistamines. 81% of these medication were administered by paramedics without doctors approval and presence but only 44% paramedics want higher competences for medication administration. We also found out that their knowledge of medications is very good.
Handling with medications is a daily routine in emergeny medical treatment and their usage is included in the care of the patient. Therefore their knowledge and competences are exceeded and that is why it is necessary to include basic pharmacology into employees training. |
