Preskus orodja "Estimate" na primeru gradbenega podjetja

Abstract

Diplomska naloga obravnava preskus orodja Estimate na primeru gradbenega projekta. Podan je kratek opis konkretnega ponudnika gradbenih storitev. Natančno je prikazana namestitev preučevanega orodja. Predpogoj za namestitev in delovanje proučevanega orodja je odprtokodni aplikacijski strežnik Tomcat, sistem za upravljanje baz podatkov Mysql in seveda spletni brskalnik. Prikazana je konfiguracija sistemskih nastavitev orodja Estimate ter vzpostavitev baze podatkov proučevanega orodja. Razložene so osnovne funkcije in navigacija v uporabniškem vmesniku na primeru gradbenega projekta. Vpeljava predlagane odprtokodne programske rešitve Estimate bi za konkretnega ponudnika gradbenih storitev pomenila veliko konkurenčno prednost. Problem, s katerim se srečuje večina malih in srednjih velikih podjetij, pa je pomanjkanje usposobljenega kadra. V tem kontekstu tudi brezplačnost programske opreme ni odločilni faktor pri izbiri.

Secondary abstract:	This research addresses the testing of Estimate solution in the case of a construction project. A brief description of the actual provider of construction services is given. The installation procedure is presented. A precondition for the installation is the operational Tomcat application server, MySQL database management system and Apache web server. A setup of Estimate, system parameters and database creation were the next steps in the testing plan. The basic functions of Estimate and user interface are described for the construction project case. The development of the tested solution would be a significant advantage for the actual construction service provider. The benefits of the open source software are however not the prevailing decisions factor for micro and small companies due to lack skilled employees.
