Abstract

Nadalje sta pomembna timsko delo in vključitev interdisciplinarnih timov, torej strokovnjakov s področja tehnoloških znanj, informatikov, vodij poslovnih področij, zunanjih razvijalcev rešitev in končnih uporabnikov. Prikazani sta analiza primera prenove informacijskega sistema v veliki banki in analiza kritičnih dejavnikov uspeha prenove informacijskega sistema v veliki banki na podlagi postavljenega modela kritičnih dejavnikov uspeha prenove informacijskega sistema v poslovni banki.

Secondary abstract: In the business world, we are constantly faced with challenges of how to ensure a high level of quality of business processes, how to reduce the cost of doing business, how to gain the necessary information for decision making, how to get a comprehensive overview of the business and how to provide the necessary resources. The aim of any organization is to achieve the best possible information system support for business processes and business system as a whole. The renovation of the business or the restructuring of business processes can provide a competitive advantage through improved business quality and lowered costs. System renewal is a demanding and complex task, which requires involvement of various field experts and use of various techniques, tools, and models which define business processes. The methodology of implementing business process reengineering should be considered rather as a guideline that individual authors comply with, and not as the universal approach to renovation of all processes. For successful implementation of a project of modernizing the information system, the top management support is necessary to ensure that all participants in the project, and all end-users of the project's results undoubtedly know that the project is essential for the entire organization. They should be timely involved in resolving problems in the project’s progress. Furthermore, teamwork and integration of interdisciplinary teams is important; therefore, experts in the field of technological knowledge, information system professionals, heads of business areas, external solution developers, and end users should be involved in all phases of the project. To achieve this, the project manager is very important, and he or she should ensure a coherent and coordinated action of team members to carry out their tasks within the agreed and planned project deadlines. Commercial banks cannot afford not to follow development trends in information technology. Their customers demand better services anytime and anywhere. Ability to adopt customer wishes increase competitive advantage and those banks that do not follow trends will lose their market share. A bank should not only take under consideration competitiveness of other banks and other financial institutions, but also non-financial institutions, which appear with an even broader range of services in the financial market. This survey discusses renewal of information systems in organizations and in commercial banks, as well as project management methodology, and necessities of taking into account the critical success factors in revamping the information system renewal. The survey presents a case research on renewal of the information system in one large commercial bank and analysis of critical success factors in information system renewal.
