diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Informacijska varnost
Abstract

Electronic data security on Police tablets |
Secondary abstract: |
With the development of information technology the mobile devices have developed to the extent that they are virtually indispensable for each individual. Most of newer mobile devices, with the use of designated applications, provide users to have access to company information system and it’s resources. Mobile devices that are used for business purposes require additional guard from potential threats threw mobile device management and safety applications. It's also necessary to adequately protect electronic data on the devices, both from external and internal threats. Slovenian police has started to use new kind of mobile devices in year 2013 that were needed to run new mobile application ePolicist. Police have already used many mobile devices that were able to remotely access to police information telecommunication system, but new mobile devices had to be bought for the implementation of new application. Since tablets, used by police officers allow access to Information telecommunication system of Police, it was necessary to secure electronic data on tablets, as they are more exposed to more potential threats, such as devices that are located in police facilities.
In this thesis, we examined security of the tablets used by the Police. Above all, we wanted to know if the safety mechanisms on the tablets satisfy the conditions laid down in the rules of data protection and information security policy of the Police. We carried out a analysis of the safety mechanisms on the mobile devices running on systems Windows 8.1 Enterprise. We also proposed additional security solutions that will contribute to ensure a higher level of security. |
