Abstract

S preučevanjem različne literature smo skušali dokazati povezavo multiple osebnostne motnje s kriminalom in doživetimi travmami iz otroštva, kar so dokazale številne raziskave. V drugem poglavju smo predstavili pojem duševne motnje in nekatere izmed njih podrobneje opisali. To so depresija, shizofrenija in osebnostne motnje.

Secondary title: MULTIPLE PERSONALITY DISORDER IN RELATION TO CRIME
Secondary abstract: In this thesis multiple personality disorder is treated in connection to crime. For a multiple personality the presence of two or more types of multiple identity or personality status is characteristic, sometimes it even takes control over an individual`s behaviour. A disability to recover the memory of certain events from the past, which cannot be explained by ordinary forgetfulness, is also characteristic. With studying various literature sources we have tried to prove the connection between multiple personality disorder with crime and traumatic events from childhood, which was already proven with several studies. The theme of this thesis is presented to start the first chapter with the presentation of deviant behaviour, its definition, how it is specified and who are the perpetrators of such acts. Majority of people suffering from multiple personality disorder faces deviant behaviour. The understanding of this concept is very important for the continuation of this thesis and for an easier understanding of the connection of this disorder with criminal acts. In the second chapter we presented the term of mental health disorder and we described some of them in detail. Those disorders are depression, schizophrenia and personality disorders. The following chapter is intended for multiple personality disorder, which was identified as a concept, we showed its epidemiology and ethology, and we also presented a case of a female patient suffering from multiple personality disorder along with a proposition and a goal for treatment. We concluded the thesis with a presentation of the Slovenian legislation, where we presented specific laws and regulations. In the end we found that in Slovenia there is not enough attention devoted to this mental health disorder, because there should have been a larger number of researches done. Multiple personality disorder is an ever more frequent issue and the consequence is an increase in criminal activities.
