Abstract

Namen pričujoče raziskave je ugotoviti, ali obstajajo razlike med reprezentacijami moških in žensk v televizijskih oglasnih sporočilih na slovenski in nemški televiziji. Z metodo analize vsebine je tako analiziran vzorec 160 oglasnih sporočil, 80 predvajanih na programu POP TV ter 80 predvajanih na programu PRO 7. Raziskava pokaže, da obstajajo določene razlike med reprezentacijami spolov. Ženske so tako pogosteje od moških bile reprezentirane v odvisnih družbenih vlogah. Ženske so, nadalje, redkeje kot moški nudile informacije o oglaševanem izdelku oziroma storitvi.

Secondary abstract: The purpose of the present study is to define if there are any differences between the representation of men and women in television advertisements on Slovenian and German television stations. Content analysis was used to analyze 160 television commercials, eighty were aired on the Slovenian television station POP TV, and eighty on the German station PRO 7. The study shows that there are some differences between the representation of genders. Women were, more likely than men, shown in dependent social roles. Furthermore, women were shown offering information about the advertised product or service less likely than men.
