Abstract

V času recesije in gospodarske krize so prihodki državnega proračuna manjši, zato je vlada uvedla varčevalne ukrepe, s katerimi želi zmanjšati odhodke.

Secondary title: Analysis of motivation and satisfaction of employees at Policijska postaja Brežice
Secondary abstract: Motivated and satisfied employees are one of the key factors of successful and effective organization. Not only in companies but also in the Government. Motivating is anything but a simple task, because it has to be adapted to each individual separately. In times of recession and economic crisis, the state budget revenues are decreased and so the government has introduced austerity measures to reduce expenditure. Among them are measures that suspend bonuses for performance and measures that reduce the amount of personal income. Managers in Slovenian police must therefore motivate police officers in different ways. With this research we wanted to figure out, what motivates police officers at work, what is their job satisfaction and whether there is a link between motivation and satisfaction, and how important this connection is. In addition to the theoretical knowledge, an empirical study found that police officers at the police station Brežice are, on average, quite motivated to work. Also, job satisfaction is relatively high. Also, higher motivated employees are more satisfied. It is therefore important that their superiors maintain motivation and satisfaction of their employees at a high level with the instruments that are available to them.
