Abstract

Vrednost gradbene konstrukcije (t.i. primarne konstrukcije) pogosto predstavlja manjši delež celotne investicije, preostanek pa predstavljo vgrajeni nekonstrukcijski elementi in oprema (t.i. sekundarna konstrucija).

Secondary title: DETERMINATION OF FLOOR ACCELERATION SPECTRA
Secondary abstract: The value of the building structure (the primary structure) often represents a smaller part of the entire investment when compared against the built-in non-structural elements and equipment (secondary structure). Despite being represented by a large share, not much attention is given to the equipment when designing, while the approximate methods which are in effect in the regulations are inaccurate and consequently unsuitable. One of the ways to evaluate the effect of an earthquake on the equipment is floor response spectra analysis. Due to a very demanding process in the engineering practice that includes the use of time history analysis, this master thesis will focus on an approximative method called the direct method of calculating floor response spectra which was developed by Vukobratović and Fajfar. The method is used for a single-degree-of-freedom systems as well as in mutiple-degree-of-freedom systems, and can also be considered for implementation with either elastic or inelastic response of the building structure. Despite the simplicity of the process, that utilises closed-form expressions, the method gives satisfactoy results and is thus regarded as suitable and useful for common engineering practice.
