Abstract

Development strategy of metal scrap management |
Secondary abstract: |
The environment of companies has become increasingly unpredictable, which is especially shown in the cases of scrap metal processors (hereinafter SMP). SMP must continuously monitor and scan the external and internal environment to achieve financial efficiency, which requires constant alertness of managers, as well as all other employees, who manage the business and the development of a company. Alertness means being attentive to new strategic opportunities on the sales markets and potential company's activities, in the supply markets and the needs of the company resources, labor market, the capital market and the necessary type of capital. On the other hand, it is necessary to carefully monitor and identify (and anticipate) all situations and events that can threaten the company and could jeopardize its success, even survival. Only such an in-depth understanding and monitoring the situation allows effective management of business operations and achieving long-term financial efficiency.
We noted that the sector of the recycling scrap industry in Slovenia is in extremely bad condition. From the examination of the SMP business conditions in Slovenia can be concluded that the position of the SMP is complicated by the legislative framework, the black market, the economic situation and administrative obstacles.
We have found out that the problems and obstacles have very different impact on the SMP. In this case it is very important to select proper strategy, no matter how the strategy is formulated. Each company has its own way of adapting to perceived problems and obstacles and they must form and choose strategies which will ensure the survival, growth and development of the company. |
