Abstract

V svetu, v katerem živimo, je vodenje neizogiben pojem. Vodimo in smo vodeni skoraj na vsakem koraku. Vodijo nas starši, vodeni smo v šoli, vodi nas družba, država in ne nazadnje vodimo ali smo vodeni pri delu, ki ga opravljamo. Pa vendar se pogledi na to, kaj je dobro, pravilno, uspešno vodenje, z vidika vodje in vodenega največkrat zelo razhajajo. Kdo je resnično uspešen vodja in katere so tiste osebnostne lastnosti, ki odlikujejo uspešnega vodjo? O tem je bilo že veliko povedanega, zapisanega, potrjenega in spet ovrženega. Skozi zgodovino so se uveljavili in razvijali različni modeli in stili vodenja, ki imajo tako svoje prednosti in slabosti. Svet, v katerem živimo, se spreminja hitreje kot kdaj koli, spreminja se človek, njegova zavest, zaznavanje, znanje, želje in pričakovanja, tako tudi vodja ne more uporabljati vedno enakih pristopov in stilov vodenja. Bolj kot kdaj koli si ljudje želijo biti pri svojem delu spet zadovoljni, občutiti, da je njihovo delo cenjeno, se razvijati in imeti perspektivo. Biti dober vodja, doseči zastavljene cilje nadrejenih in z dobrim občutkom gledati svoje podrejene se v današnjem času, ko vse stremi k dobičku, zdi skoraj nemogoče. Zato bomo v tem delu skušali odgovoriti na vprašanje, katere so lastnosti, ki bi jih v današnjem času moral imeti dober vodja, kakšen stil vodenja in osebnostne lastnosti bi moral uporabiti, da bi bil uspešen z vidika nadrejenih in dober z vidika podrejenih.

Secondary abstract: In the current world, leadership is something one can hardly avoid. We lead or are being lead in almost every aspect of our life. We are led by our parents, educators in schools and by the governments. We are also led or can lead in our work environment. However, views on a good and successful leadership can differ greatly between the leaders and the lead. Who is a truly successful leader and what are his personal characteristics? Many ideas have already been discussed on this subject and numerous theories have been proposed and later rejected. Several models and styles of leadership have been developed throughout history. However, each had its own advantages and disadvantages. The world we are currently living in is changing faster than ever before and with that changes can also be seen in humans, their knowledge, expectations and desires. In such changing environment it is unlikely that a successful leader can always rely on the same approaches to leadership. More than ever, people feel that their professional work should fulfil them, bring them joy and sense of personal development. In the current paradigm of solely profit-oriented business model, it seems almost impossible to be a successful leader who can achieve business goals on one side and care for his or hers employees on the other side. In this thesis, we will try to answer a question of what are the characteristics a successful leaders need to possess in current times and what styles of leadership should they apply to be successful both with their superiors as well as their employees.
