Abstract

Secondary title: SEPA cross-border credit transfers
Secondary abstract: Project SEPA was initialized with introduction of single currency Euro inside European Union. SEPA is strongly politically supported with regulations of European Union institutions. SEPA cross-border credit transfers were the first payment services implemented using SEPA infrastructure. They represent the beginning and the core of financial transactions between users of payment services inside monetary union. To achieve standardization and automatisation, ISO 20022 standard was used. This standard contains no information about the process but represents the recipe for modeling processes. SEPA cross-border credit transfers will benefit payment service users because of lower transaction fees and quicker transaction invocations. These benefits are achieved with high financial investments in infrastructure and information systems made by the banks.
