Abstract

Vpliv mobilnih naprav se je v zadnjih nekaj letih dramatično povečal. Naprave postajajo vse bolj sofisticirane in uporabniki lahko z njimi izvajajo vrsto različnih nalog, čeprav so v gibanju. V času namiznih osebnih računalnikov je bil spletni brskalnik primarni način dostopa do teh virov, kar pa se je spremenilo z eksplozijo pametnih telefonov in tablic. Čeprav je vsak telefon opremljen z mobilnim brskalnikom, uporabniki za številne funkcije, kot so prenašanje datotek ter poslušanje glasbe in ogled videov ali prebiranje novic, raje izberejo aplikacije. Trgovina z mobilnimi aplikacijami je bolj konkurenčna kot kdaj prej, saj so na voljo aplikacije, ki uporabniku, ki je povezan s spletom, pomagajo storiti vse, kar hoče. Mobilne aplikacije se spreminjajo v dobičkonosen posel. Gartner je predvidel, da bodo do leta 2017 prenesli več kot 268 milijard mobilnih aplikacij, kar pomeni, da bo zaslužek presegel 77 milijard dolarjev. Mobilna industrija se mora spopasti z vse večjimi zahtevami uporabnikov po funkcionalnosti in z zahtevami po visoki kakovosti. Če hočejo preživeti, morajo podjetja, ki razvijajo mobilne aplikacije, ne le zadovoljiti zahteve uporabnikov, temveč jim morajo ponuditi več: zadovoljivo uporabniško izkušnjo. Današnji uporabniki mobilnih telefonov imajo visoka pričakovanja. Mobilni trg postaja vse bolj nasičen in za uspeh na trgu je ključna aplikacija, ki takoj pritegne pozornost uporabnika, je preprosta za uporabo in ponuja resnično vrednost. iPhone, iPad touch, Blackberry, naprave android, iPad in druge tablice prinašajo različne uporabniške izkušnje. Na voljo so kjerkoli in kadarkoli - ne le v pisarni ali doma - imajo majhen zaslon, snemalnik glasu, kamero, lokacijo in zaslon na dotik, zato se izkušnja zelo razlikuje od tiste pri osebnem računalniku. Toda niso vse mobilne aplikacije enake. Aplikacije segajo od preprostih, statičnih, do tistih, ki uporabniku prinašajo sofisticirano in zelo interaktivno izkušnjo. Številne aplikacije, ki so se na začetku pojavile v trgovini z aplikacijami, so bile zabavne in so pritegnile pozornost, a večini podjetij se niso zdele pomemben in kredibilen kanal. Danes se na trgu pojavlja nov val aplikacij - aplikacije naslednje generacije, ki ne prinašajo le izjemne uporabniške izkušnje, temveč so tudi zelo uporabne. Te aplikacije ponujajo pomembne informacije na personaliziran način, ki pritegne pozornost in podjetja jih končno vidijo kot pomemben nov kanal poslovanja.

Secondary abstract: The power of mobile devices has increased dramatically in the last few years. These devices are becoming more sophisticated and allow users to accomplish a wide variety of tasks while on the move. In the era of the desktop PC the web browser was the primary method of access to these resources, but the explosion of smartphones and tablets has changed everything. Despite every handset being equipped with a mobile browser, users are instead choosing to use apps for many common functions such as downloading and consuming music and videos, and reading the news. The mobile app marketplace is more competitive than ever with apps available for practically anything a connected consumer may want to achieve. Mobile apps are big business. Gartner has predicted that by 2017 mobile apps will be downloaded more than 268 billion times, generating revenue of more than $77 billion. The mobile industry has to deal with challenges of increasing functionality requirements of the users as well as their demand for high quality. In order to survive in the highly competitive market, mobile development companies not only should satisfy the requirements of users but also provide more: a satisfying user experience. Today’s mobile users bring high expectations to the table. In an increasingly crowded mobile market, an application that immediately captures the user’s attention, is easy to navigate, and offers real value is critical to market success. The iPhone, iPad touch, Blackberry, Android devices, iPad and other tablets all deliver vastly different experiences. Because they can be accessed anytime, anywhere – not just at the office or home – and they have a small screen size, voice, video, camera, location and touch screen functionalities; the experience is fundamentally different from a PC. But not all mobile apps are created equal. Apps range from simple, static ones to those that deliver a sophisticated and highly interactive experience for users. Many of the apps that initially flooded the app stores were fun and engaging, but really weren’t viewed by most companies as a significant and credible channel. Today, a new wave of apps is gaining traction in the market – next-generation apps that deliver not only an exceptional user experience, but also highly useful services. These apps provide relevant information in a personalized, engaging way and companies are starting to take them seriously as a viable new channel for doing business.
