Abstract

Pričujoče diplomsko delo bralcu ponuja vpogled v najpogosteje uporabljene in omenjene metode premagovanja stresa: fizične aktivnosti, meditacija, joga, zdravstvena hipnoza, avtogeni trening, sprostitev z uporabo vizualizacije, kognitivne metode, biofeedback metoda sproščanja, tehnika čustvenega osvobajanja – EFT, Bownova terapija, masaža in aromaterapija, humor in smeh, terapija z zvokom in glasbo, terapija z barvo, terapija s pomočjo živali, spanje, prehranjevalne navade, upravljanje časa, progresivna mišična sprostitev ter druge.

Secondary title: Individual methods for managing stress
Secondary abstract: Life can be seen as a boat, drifting on the water. Life events are as waves which can shake the balance of humans. Sometimes the both sails calmly and sometimes the storm appears on the horizon, with striking lightning and tidal waves approaching and strongly shaking the boat. At that point we can say that individual is stressed. Stress can be caused by positive or negative events that throws individual of the track. Due to the fast paced life few of us can manage to maintain permanent internal balance. Modern way of life brings a lot of troubles, frustration and different demands, which can cause stress in individual. It depends on the individual to which extent he is susceptible to stress and what impact stress has on him. Stress in not always unwelcomed, in small quantities it has positive effects on a person: it stimulates a formation of new memory, creative thinking, dynamism, motivation for work. But it can have fatal effect on our mental and physical health if we are under stress too long. Therefore it is important to recognize stress and try to cope with it. This can be achieved by using different methods for managing stress. There are plenty methods for managing stress and each individual chooses the one that suits him best.
