Abstract

V magistrski nalogi se dotaknemo fenomena resnih elektronskih iger in njihovega potenciala za učenje. Dotaknemo se njihovega izvora in povezave s komercialnimi igrami. Podrobneje obdelamo vlogo igralca in dejavnike, ki imajo vpliv nanj, vzorce karakteristik resnih učnih iger, načine podajanja vsebine in znanja ter pomen poročanja. Ugotavljamo, ali so video igre primeren medij za podajanje znanja in ali je tekstovna igra primerna oblika igre za učenje. Obe hipotezi potrdimo z opombo, da je področje zaradi množice nasprotujočih teorij, terminologij in mnenj potrebno bolje raziskati. Na podlagi ugotovitev empiričnega dela smo izdelali načrt in prototip tekstovne resne zgodovinske igre Galicija XIV/XV.

Secondary title: Design and implementation of serious electronic game
Secondary abstract: The master thesis is subject to phenomenon of serious electronic games and their potential for learning. We search for their origins and connection with commercial electronic games. Role of the player and factors of influence are examined in depth, also the patterns of serious teaching games, and the ways of learning with games and role of reflecting the experience of play. We are finding out, whether electronic games are a suitable way to learn and if a form of text-based game is a suitable form of a game for learning. We confirm both hypotheses, noting that the area is in need of extensive research. Based on findings from empirical study, we created a design document and a prototype of text-based serious historical game, called Galicija XIV/XV.
