Abstract

Secondary title: LOSSLESS AND LOSSY COMPRESSION OF MULTICHANNEL SURFACE ELECTROMYOGRAMS
Secondary abstract: In this thesis, we provide an overview of lossy and lossless compression methods that could be used for storing multichannel surface EMG signals. In particular, we provide the analysis of lossy compression impacts on the decomposition of EMG signals. The main results include a prototype of a desktop application for compression and decompression of surface EMG signals, and a short analysis of the used compression methods and their impact on decomposition of surface EMG signals. The application supports opening of OTB file types, reading of signal’s metadata from the corresponding XML files, and reading and writing of signal vales to and from SIG data files.
