Abstract

Secondary abstract: In my diploma paper with the title Children in the third triennium of elementary school and their use of different social genres of language I firstly wrote about theoretical facts, and later I corroborated my theoretical wisdom with the empirical research. With the help of a questionnaire I assessed the results in the empirical part, concerning which genre of language (literal, colloquial, dialect, slang) the pupils used in the third class of triennium in elementary school, namely as regards to different circumstances, like with parents, fellow citizens, coevals from the same place, fellow pupils, with teachers in Slovene lessons or in other lessons, and with other workers at the elementary school, such as the secretary, housekeeper, cook, etc. With regard to the dialect as the authentic mother tongue, which the child is acquainted with first, I was also interested in the pupils' relation to dialect. Quite so I valued the tasks and aims of the lesson of Slovene language, didactic principles with the stress on the principle of leaning the literature language to everyday language of pupils. I also defined the terms literal and nonliteral language, their divisions to literary and literary colloquial language, to provincial colloquial language, dialects and language of interest.
