Abstract

Secondary title: Translating at the proces of acquiering a foreign language in kindergarten and primary school
Secondary abstract: A lot of European states plan to introduce learning a foreign language at early stages of a child's education. There are also a lot of intended or coincidental circumstances where the child meets other/foreign languages. Fundamental bases for researching acquiring the first and all other languages are developmental theories where the child traverses from one developmental phase to another and therefore develops his language abilities and matures at the linguistic area. Learning of a language is a complex activity dependent on a lot of different factors. Teaching a foreign language in the early stage demands different approaches than teaching of older children. Learning should be funny, natural, and spontaneous for young learners. Therefore, learning of a foreign language so early should not be a burden for the children but something which would increase his motivation and would be fun and consequentially support more successful and extensive retention of the foreign language. Organizers of teaching nowadays use different methods and ways to teach than they used to. The purpose is that children have a possibility to acquire the foreign language easier, faster, and more efficient. The children discover the new language, he has fun with the research, and it is not a burden for him. The teacher uses the approach of holistic learning also called language showers where the children subconsciously acquire the new language, then decide for the pace and the content of acquiring, which is adjusted to their developmental level and therefore, they are able to remember more and keep it in his memory. The important role with foreign language acquiring has the mother tongue, which does not slowdown the process of acquiring the new language. However, it encourages connection between the languages and it is an aid when acquiring the foreign language. Therefore, the knowledge of the mother tongue is dominant at the beginning of learning a foreign language and then using of the foreign language increases. Using of the mother tongue gradually decreases and understanding in the foreign language increases.
