Abstract

Izobrazba in znanje predstavljata pomemben dejavnik sodobne družbe in njene prihodnosti.

Secondary title: FACTORS INFLUENCING THE DECISION TO CONTINUE STUDY AT MASER'S DEGREE LEVEL
Secondary abstract: Education and knowledge are the most important factors of modern society and its future. To educate is necessary, because nowadays every individual person and all successful companies are aware of its meaning. In our thesis, we wanted to elaborate the affect that factors have on continuation in postgraduate study programmes in theory and in practice. We have divided first, theoretical part in two parts: • education and • description of factors affecting on continuation in postgraduate studies. We have describe in details the importance of education, evaluation and goals of education, define an education system, regulation of education and motivation for education. In the second part of theoretical part we have presented 16 factors, which more or less affect on individual decision on continuation in postgraduate studies. Due to our inquiry of students in the second, the research part of the thesis, which are attending Faculty of organizational sciences, we have gain informations about the importancy of the listed factors, how much have they influenced the decision on continuation in postgraduate study programmes and how much have they influenced the decision on continuation in postgraduate study programmes on Faculty of organizational sciences. The analysis of informations has shown, that the two main factors which are influencing the decision on continuation in postgraduate studies are the development of career and acquisition of knowledge. Faculty of organizational sciences as educational organization has been chosen by students due to content of education, interesting study programmes and admission requirements. What is interesting is an information/the fact that the promotion of study programmes itself has at/the least influenced the decision of students, which have chosen this educational organization. At the end, on the basis of prior analysis of results, we could present some ideas of improvements and formulate some conclusions.
