Abstract

Secondary title: IMPROVEMENT OF THE OEE BY MEANS OF QUALITY MANAGEMENT TOOLS
Secondary abstract: In times of tightened economic circumstances the competitiveness and survival of the company depends on knowing and mastering each individual process in detail. Through that knowledge optimum efficiency can be achieved. The aim of this Diploma Thesis is to analyze current techniques and tools of quality management, which would have a positive influence on the efficiency of processing and manufacturing procedures. The core problem is linked to the question; how can higher efficiency be ensured in a company with a broad assortment of products? To discover and exploit areas, where the potential for improvement exist, we established a system for evaluating efficiency with Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicator. This analysis is concerning the 35391 cost center in the TRO, d. o. o., (ltd) and it’s milling machine. Based on the analysis of current situation in studied company, the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) was estimated to be on average around 56.8 %. Apart from calculating the OEE, we also examined the causes for complaints. It was found that incapability of meeting dimensional product specification was the foremost important cause for complaints (31.57 %). Based on research results, backed by relevant theoretical conclusions, we found that the tools 5S, TPM, and FMEA as most suitable models for the task. Foreseen effects of those tools decreased the numbers of faulty products and increased availability of the machine, therefore increasing productivity and autonomy of employees. Thus, theoretically the various organizational approaches should reduce the numbers of rejected and/or damaged products.
