diplomsko delo
Abstract

Creating teaching materials for diatonic accordion at music school |
Secondary abstract: |
The diploma thesis in front of you is exploring the extent of diatonic accordion and its teachings along with usage and process of choosing the teaching resources and materials for this instrument in Slovenia. This theme has been chosen because of the personal experiences of teaching the diatonic accordion and due to the issues of preparing teaching materials that an educator comes across. This theme was poorly researched in Slovenia, so the diploma thesis brings new findings to this teaching sector. In the theoretical part of the thesis, the diatonic accordion and its characteristics have been briefly presented, especially in terms of its use in folk music. Furthermore, the development of diatonic accordion teachings in Slovenia and its referent powers have been analysed. Also music schools that teach this instrument along with competitions and events in Slovenia, supporting the diatonic accordion have been presented. In the empirical research, youngsters' attitudes towards diatonic accordion have been analysed, particularly because of own opinion, that their wishes should be included into the process of selecting the teaching materials. In the practical part of this thesis, compositions for diatonic accordion that could be used as teaching materials have been collected. Also official government instructions for preparing those materials were researched and own thoughts and suggestions for some improvements were offered. To sum up, based on the analysis of secondary data, own empirical research and personal experience while working as a teacher of diatonic accordion, some weaknesses and pitfalls in current ways of preparing teaching materials were noticed, therefore some ideas for improvements in this area in Slovenia were suggested. |
