Abstract

Diplomsko delo obravnava projekt celovite prenove informacijskega sistema v konkretnem podjetju. Obstoječi informacijski sistem je občasno odpovedoval zaradi preobremenjenosti in iztrošenosti. Izvedena analiza strojne in programske opreme je pokazala, da vlaganja v zastarelo opremo več niso smiselna. Vodstvo je izbiralo med več alternativami za celovito prenovo. Izdelan je načrt izvedbe, ki zajema popis in pripravo na prenovo. Podrobno so opisane aktivnosti od namestitve virtualnega okolja na sodobno strojno opremo do preslikave fizičnih strežnikov v virtualne stroje. Predstavljene so aktivnosti za optimizacijo delovanja informacijskega sistema kot so uvedba strežnika za varnostno kopiranje, uvedba datotečnega in domenskega strežnika z ureditvijo aktivnega imenika, uvedba aplikacijskega in tiskalniškega strežnika ter uvedba SCCM. Projekt prenove je bil zaključen v predvidenem času ter v okviru projektnih sredstev. Prenovljen informacijski sistem je učinkovitejši, varnejši, zanesljivejši ter ima več funkcionalnosti kot prejšnji. Odzivi uporabnikov in administratorjev so dobri, ker je prenovljeni informacijski sistem prijaznejši do uporabnikov, administratorjem pa omogoča enostavnejše upravljanje.

Secondary abstract: The thesis deals with the project of a complete reengineering of the information system in an existing company. The actual information system had periodically been giving up due to overload and heavy wear. The hardware and software analysis proved that investment in the obsolete equipment would be pointless. For a complete renovation, the managing team was choosing among several alternatives. The implementation plan was made, which included the inventory and the procedure of the renovation. There were detailed descriptions of activities, from the installation of the virtual environment on contemporary hardware to the mapping of physical servers into the virtual machinery. The activities to optimize the performance of the information system were presented, such as the introduction of a backup server, a file and a domain server with an active directory, as well as the introduction of the application and print servers, and the introduction of SCCM. The renovation project was completed on time and within the project funds. The overhauled IT system is more efficient, safer, more reliable and has more functionalities than the previous one. The response from users and administrators is good because the renewed information system is friendlier to users, and administrators find it easier to manage.
