diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Organizacija in management delovnih procesov
Abstract

MOTIVATION LOGISTIC WORKERS FOR EDUCATION |
Secondary abstract: |
In today‘s world, we have been witnessing major shifts across the board in the organisation of logistics, particularly in the field of labour. On a daily basis, the market becomes even more saturated with innovations, new products, new technologies and processes. As a result, today‘s buyers have become more demanding, better informed and technologically literate. Buyers continue to increase their demands while companies, in an effort to maintain competitiveness and profits, often put additional pressure on their employees. Such pressure will also increases competition among employees. Employees rely on management provide more than mere instructions – that is to provide direction and inspiration; making motivation of crucial importance to the organization. The employee motivation process must be continuous, long-term and comprehensible. Namely, employee training is imperative in the sense of providing the know-how necessary for coping with innovations, new processes in logistics, and at the same time to enhance employee skills and abilities as well as their job performance. It is the duty of the head of the company to provide employees the motivation needed to partake in the training and education processes.
The paper consists of the theoretical part: the definition of motivation, its impact on employees and which motivators are considered important factors. Then follows the section on education: reasons behind its importance, types of education and the definition of motivation. In the practical part, we have presented in graphs the questionnaire analysis and findings. Certain motives that promote or hinder participation in training have also been listed.
Based on the results of the survey, we have come to the conclusion that employees in logistics are ready to continue educating themselves in order to keep up with new technologies and market innovations. Employees perceive as the most motivating factor the possible material rewards as well as career development. Most commonly, employees would cite personal reasons preventing them from participating in the training and education process. |
