Abstract

Skupine, ki so najpogosteje diskriminirane, so ženske, rasne in etnične skupine, homoseksualci, invalidi in starejši ljudje. Ženske so bile skozi zgodovino vedno manjvredne in v podrejenem položaju, ves čas so se morale boriti za svoje pravice.

Secondary title: WOMEN AS SUBJECTS OF EMPLOYMENT DISCRIMINATION
Secondary abstract: In the dissertation, we analyzed the problem of discrimination against women in employment. Discrimination derives from Latin, where the verb »discriminare« means »distinguished between«. It means treating a person differently because of their possession of a personal attribute. Discrimination also applies to groups, not only an individual. Most frequently discriminated are the following groups of people: women, race and ethnical groups, homosexuals, disabled and older people. Throughout the history, women have always been in a less favorable and subordinate position. They were constantly fighting for their rights. Their position did not change much after entering the labor market because they never discussed women rights. Nowadays, in the times of economic crisis, many people face a problem of unemployment. This means that they all are fighting for survival, not just women. We can find cases of discrimination against women in employment, at work and in professions. On average women are better educated than men, yet it is harder for them to find a job and they occupy lower positions at work and are paid less than men.
