Abstract

Secondary title: POSSIBILITY OF OFF-GRID HOUSE CONSTRUCTION IN SLOVENIA
Secondary abstract: Only a century ago, off-the-grid houses were the only possible construction for living in our area but nowadays, we already need to think about what kind of construction it actually represents. With the development and construction of public infrastructure it was also expected the buildings will be connected to it – regardless whether natural resources could fulfil the self-supply. People in some foreign countries do not only have interest in building such houses, they also construct them. Modern technology, available nowadays provides simple solutions for different systems for self-sufficiency. How does the Slovenian legislation interpret such alternative construction? Is it possible to build such a house in Slovenia at all? We will try to answer these questions in this graduation thesis and we will also define the term ‘off the grid house’, describe systems which define it, interpret current legalisation, analyse the answers of the competent authorities in relation to this problem and present the key findings.
