Abstract

Orodjarska podjetja so tipični predstavniki proizvodnih podjetij z naročniško proizvodnjo, kjer običajno šele pridobljeno naročilo sproži proizvodnjo. Zaradi specifičnih značilnosti naročniške proizvodnje so klasične metode vodenja in upravljanja proizvodnje velikokrat neuporabne. Teoretični koncepti naročniške proizvodnje, novih metod in projektnega managementa so predstavljeni v prvem delu magistrske naloge. Raziskovalni del magistrske naloge zajema opis poteka raziskave uporabe projektnega managementa v Orodjarstvu Gorjak in kritično analizo rezultatov.

Secondary title: Project management approach in MTO production - the case of company Orodjarstvo Gorjak
Secondary abstract: Tool manufacturing companies are a typical example of make to order production, where an order usually launches the production. Because of specific characteristics of make to order production, typical methods of leading and managing the productions are many times useless because of the specific characteristics of make to order production. There has been an increase in a demand for developing new methodologies of leading and managing order-based production in the last few years and the project management and production management are also partially mentioned in the literature. Project management is recommended to be a part of tool manufacturing companies due to similarities between the order and the project. In the first part of the master’s thesis, the theoretical concepts of make to order production, of new methods and of project management are explained. In the second part we introduce the tool manufacturing company Orodjarstvo Gorjak and their process of managing make to order production at their company. The research part of the master’s thesis consists the research of project management in Orodjarstvo Gorjak and critical analysis of the results. We have discovered that Orodjarstvo Gorjak uses the concept of project management, which has a positive impact on the success of the company. Since the company is still growing and is therefore becoming more complex it would be advisable to develop and improve the concept of project management. The master’s thesis is the basis for further research and can be expanded to other tool manufacturing companies in Slovenia.
