Abstract

Secondary title: THE ROLE OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES FOR PHYSICALLY DISABLED CHILDREN
Secondary abstract: The diploma thesis entitled The Role of Physical Activities for Physically Disabled Children encompasses only the theoretical part. Its aim is to establish whether the existing sports requisites and accessories can as well be used by physically disabled children. We also want to establish if there is enough literature, which in any way helps parents, teachers and professionals with the development of physically disabled children. Lastly, we want to establish whether different sports are also available to physically disabled children and if these children need special adjustments for integrating them in regular kindergartens. In the research part of the thesis we used the descriptive method and primary and secondary sources. We presented movement activities in a kindergarten (in detail in chapter The Physical Activities in the Curiculum for Kindergartens with aspect on the contents and development of physical activities), the physical development of a child (the development of physical capabilities, skills and competences), the stage of movement impairment (the definition of movement impairment, the causes and stages of movement impairment, and the model of including children with special needs into physical activities), and physical activities for physically disabled children (the appropriate physical activities, possibilities for physical activities, and the required competences of providers of physical activities for physically disabled children). On the basis of the method used we established that existing sports requisites and accessories can as well be used with physically disabled children. We also established that there is enough literature in libraries, online, and in kindergartens and schools with which everybody linked to the children in question can get acquainted with the topic and constantly educate themselves in this field. We discovered that different sports activities are accessible to physically disabled children and that these children need a person who will assist them with everyday activities, encourage them and help them overcome movement obstacles.
