Abstract

Izpostavljene so tehnološke možnosti in pristopi k ustvarjanju nadrealistične digitalne umetnosti.

Secondary title: SURREAL DIGITAL PHOTO MANIPULATION
Secondary abstract: The thesis deals with the surreal digital photomanipulation. Its purpose is to present surrealism as an art movement of the early twentieth century and compare it with the surreal digital art of contemporary artists. The emphasis is on the classic surreal photomanipulation and the modern surreal digital photomanipulation. The theoretical part offers the presentation of different authors, their art work, and the procedures involved in making of classic, as well as digital photomanipulations. The focus is on the technological options and approaches used to create the surreal digital art. The answers to the key questions, whether the contemporary surrealist artists use the same approach to extract ideas for their art than their predecessors, are presented, alongside with the answers to the questions, whether we can find any thematic links between the surreal art works of the past and the contemporary artists. The options and flexibility in creating photomanipulations as independent pieces of art are described. The practical part includes the presentation of my own works of art, the description of creative process, and the hardware and software used during it.
