Abstract

Zaradi zagotavljanja razpoložljivosti podatkov poslovnim aplikacijam se je pojavila potreba po prenosu in osveževanju podatkov na samo napravo odjemalca. Za prenos potrebujemo orodje, ki zna iz strežniške podatkovne baze replicirati podatke v klientovo podatkovno bazo in obratno. V diplomskem delu smo predstavili in primerjali dve orodji, ki služita temu namenu, replikacijo Microsoft SQL in replikacijsko orodje Comtron TRONsync. Prikazani so tudi postopki konfiguracije obeh orodij, izmerjene hitrosti prenosov in integriteta podatkov. Ugotovili smo, da obe orodji dobro služita svojemu namenu, vseeno pa obstajajo določene razlike, zaradi katerih se lažje odločimo za pravo izbiro. Če potrebujemo hitre prenose proti odjemalcu in replikacijo med različnimi podatkovnimi bazami, izberemo TRONsync. Uporabniku bolj prijazno in dodelano pa je replikacijsko orodje MS SQL.

Secondary abstract: In order to ensure the availability of data to business applications, the need for the transmission and the updating of data directly to the customer's device has arisen. In order to transfer data, we need a tool that is able to replicate data to the client's database and vice versa. In this diploma thesis we have presented and compared two tools that can be used to serve this purpose; Microsoft SQL replication and Comtron TRONsync replication tool. We have described the configuration processes for both of the tools and presented the measured download speeds and the integrity of data. It was noted that both of the tools serve a positive purpose, however there are certain differences that facilitate the choice between them. When one needs fast data transmission to the subscriber and cross-platform replication, he should choose TRONsync. MS SQL replication tool is, however, more user-friendly and sophisticated.
