Abstract

Sklep: Zdravljenje z biološkimi zdravili spremeni kakovost življenja bolnikov z revmatoidnim artritisom, saj jim določene kombinacije zdravil zmanjšajo bolečino in omogočijo boljšo gibljivost sklepov in aktivnost ter vključenost v vsakdanje življenje. Pri zdravljenju je potrebno upoštevati posameznega bolnika in slediti priporočenemu načinu zdravljenja.

Secondary title: BIOPHARMACEUTICAL TREATMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE OF PATIENTS WITH RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS
Secondary abstract: Introduction: Pain is for patients with rheumatoid arthritis accompanying factor that restricts daily life activities and diminishes their quality of life. Medical drugs can ameliorate the pain; recently there is stronger emphasis on biological medicinal drugs for rheumatoid arthritis. This study was to determine whether treatment with biological drugs reduces the pain and improve quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Methods: In this thesis, we have used questionnaire to measure the functional abilities of patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The study involved 30 patients monitored before treatment with biological drugs and after 12 months of treatment with biological drugs. We have analyzed the results with computer program SPSS 20.0. Results: In this study, we found out that the difficulties in carrying out all daily activities, which measured in questionnaire, before taking biological drugs (visit 1) and after 12 months, were significantly (p<0,05) decreased. We also found that also pain has significantly reduced (t=8,601; p=0,000) after 12 months of taking biological drugs. Conclusion: Treatment with biological drugs changes the quality of life of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, since certain combinations of medications reduces pain and allows better joint mobility and activity and involvement in everyday life. With the treatment it is necessary to take into account the individual patient and follow the recommended mode of treatment.
