Abstract

Magistrsko delo obravnava časovno zahtevnost za izčrpno iskanje ključa algoritma DES v sodobnem oblačnem sistemu Microsoft Azure. Namen dela je dokazati, da je s pomočjo javno dostopnih oblačnih storitev mogoče z grobo silo poiskati ključ. V delu je opisan algoritem DES, moč oblačnega sistema Microsoft Azure, delo s storitvijo Azure Batch in omejitve zaradi virtualizacije. S pripravo eksperimenta je prikazan razvoj programa za iskanje ključa, metode uporabljene za porazdelitev iskanja med več jedri in več računalniki. Delo je zaključeno z ugotovitvijo: hitrost iskanja lahko preseže prejšnja tekmovanja.

Secondary abstract: Master’s thesis addresses time difficulty of exhaustive key search for algorithm DES using modern cloud computing. The intention of the thesis is to prove that using public cloud services is possible to execute brute force attack on known algorithm successfully. Thesis specifies structure of DES, strength of cloud system Microsoft Azure, working steps with service Azure Batch and defines limitations of virtualization technology. Experimental plan defines process of development of key searching application with methods for multiple processors and computers. The thesis concludes with a discovery that key search speed can exceed speeds from previous competitions.
