diplomsko delo visokošolskega strokovnega študija Organizacija in management kadrovskih in izobraževalnih procesov
Abstract

EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION AT BIOPLUS D.O.O. |
Secondary abstract: |
High employee motivation is a key factor of successful and efficient enterprises. The purpose of motivation is for the employees to fully develop their professional talents while also bolster their personal growth. Company size plays no role in this. If anything smaller companies have an advantage over the larger ones on the count of their size, which allows the smaller companies to quickly and efficiently adapt to the market. It is also easier for the smaller companies to establish and maintain motivational models due to well knowing their employees.
The purpose of this dissertation is the research of causes that drive the employees at their work and identification of their most important motivational factors for their work. Results will be obtained by comparing answered questionnaires of the chosen company Bioplus d.o.o. with those of the comparison group made up of employees of five other companies. The six companies are all small and according to their financial statements successful niche market providers.
The dissertation defines both motivation and being motivated and it also explains what drives the employees and their superiors to give their work the maximum effort. We have determined that receiving payment is still the most important motivational factor in both studied groups, but in the comparison group payment acts as a hygiene factor, while the chosen company uses payment as a motivational encouragement. In case of Bioplus d.o.o. payment remains the most important motivational factor even when offered an expanded list of motivational factors, whereas in the comparison group interesting work becomes the most important factor. The dissertation checks and reaffirms that Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and Herzberg’s motivator-hygiene theory remain relevant even now. To improve employee motivation in Bioplus d.o.o. we have suggested some improvements listed at the end of the dissertation. |
