Abstract

Proti koncu teoretičnega dela smo predstavili še tri umetnike: Charlesa Le Bruna, Rembrandta Harmenszoon van Rijna in Francisa Bacona, ki so v svojih v portretih in avtoportretih raziskovali in ustvarjali različne izraze človekove ekspresije. Na koncu smo predstavili še ustvarjalni proces ter lastne portrete in avtoportrete.

Secondary title: FACIAL EXPRESSIONS AND THE ROLE OF DEPICING EMOTIONS IN PORTRAIT ART
Secondary abstract: Graduation thesis with the title Facial expressions and role of depicting emotions in portrait art consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part we presented body language and expression of emotions. We focused on describing facial expressions of emotions and revealing these expressions in fine art. Furthermore, we discussed the depictions of ceremonial and expressive gestures, which are still preserved in iconography. At the end of the theoretical work we introduced three artists: Charles Le Brun, Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn and Francis Bacon, who in their own portraits and self-portraits researched and portrayed human expressions in different ways. We studied the body within the context of gestures and emotions to use this material for detecting psychological characteristics of the people portrayed. In the practical part we firstly presented the making of cardboard scratchboard by combining materials and using different tools for modelling shapes on white drawing. At the end we described the creative process and our own portraits and self-portraits.
