Abstract

Pojma organizacijska kultura in organizacijska klima sta velikokrat zamenjana pojma.

Secondary abstract: Concepts organizational culture and organizational climate are often confused or misused. Although they have a lot in common, they cannot be equated. The very notion of culture is deeper than climate, which is to a certain degree a reflection of the culture. Organizational culture is a system of values, rules, opinions, norms, characteristics, behavior and methods that employees use. Besides this concept also other concepts such as corporate culture, company culture, etc. can be observed. For organizational climate those characteristics are identified which make the organization different from other organizations and have impact on people's behavior. Master's thesis consists of two parts, the first part is theoretical and the second part is empirical. The first part considers detailed organizational culture by means of various authors. We presented the definition and types of organizational culture, investigated how organizational culture affects the performance of the organization, focused on features and factors of culture and clarified components, levels and functions of culture in the organization. Similar was made for organizational climate, where the concept of organizational climate was initially introduced, stated what kind of organizational climates exist and how it affects organization. We demonstrated factors and dimensions of the climate, how it can be changed, measured and studied. At the end of the theoretical part we wished to present differences between organizational culture and organizational climate. The empirical part presented the selected company Gozdno gopodarstvo Slovenj Gradec d.d.. By means of a questionnaire, which measured culture and climate, we performed a survey of the company. The results were then analyzed and presented in graphs and in all thirteen dimensions commented with concrete proposals for improvement.
