(diplomsko delo)
Abstract
Raziskovalne metode: Pri izdelavi diplomskega dela smo uporabili deskriptivno in kvantitativno metodo dela. Pridobljene podatke smo uredili, analizirali in izračunali deleže. Rezultate ankete smo predstavili opisno in grafično.

CONSEQUENCES OF USE OF HARMFUL SUBSTANCES DURING PREGNANCY |
| Secondary abstract: |
Introduction: During the pregnancy, everything that enters the body of a mother has an impact on her fetus and its development. Through the placenta in pregnancy and through milk in breastfeeding, drugs are passed from the mother to her baby. The fetus can suffer physical as well as neurological damages, which can last until the end of his life. These impacts can be visible immediately after the birth, but they can also arise subsequently during the child’s development. The objective of this thesis is to shed light on the consequences of consuming harmful substances during pregnancy. Within this research, we would like to determine the frequency of use of harmful substances among pregnant women and their awareness of its consequences.
Methods: When preparing this thesis, both qualitative and quantitative methods were employed. The data were collected with questionnaires that contained 14 closed-ended and half-open questions. The research was carried out in the Dispensary for Women and included 50 randomly selected pregnant women. The data were gathered and analysed, and the results were textually and graphically displayed in our thesis.
Results: The research demonstrated that pregnant women consumed more harmful substances before, rather than during the pregnancy. They were aware of the consequences of consuming harmful substances on both the fetus as well as the mother. Participating women read the most amount of information regarding the harmful substances on the internet.
Conclusion: To conclude, in our research we found that it is fundamental to educate pregnant women on the consequences of consuming harmful substances during pregnancy. It is equally important to make them aware of the risks that they expose themselves and their babies to. They should act responsibly and ask for suitable help when needed. |
