(diplomsko delo)

Abstract

Raziskovalna metodologija: V diplomskem delu smo uporabili deskriptivno metodo dela ter kvantitativno metodologijo raziskovanja. S pomočjo anketnega vprašalnika smo pridobili samooceno stopnje asertivnosti med študenti zdravstvene nege in študenti strojništva ene izmed univerz v Sloveniji. Rezultate smo računalniško obdelali in jih grafično prikazali s pomočjo programov Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excell in SPSS.

Secondary title: STUDENT EVALUATION OF ASSERTIVENESS
Secondary abstract: Theoretical frameworks: Assertiveness is a way of interpersonal communication, personal-behavioural characteristic, where the individuals express themselves and their rights but also take into account the other person and his rights. Assertiveness development begins already in childhood with appropriate parenting. Assertiveness is also possible to learn later in life by assertive training. College time is an ideal opportunity to learn assertive communication techniques. The purpose of the study is to determine the level of assertiveness among nursing students and engineering students, from two members at one of the universities in Slovenia. Research methodology: In this thesis, we used the descriptive method of work and a quantitative research methodology. Using a questionnaire, we gain self-assessed level of assertiveness among nursing students and engineering students. The results were processed with the computer to display them graphically using Microsoft Office Word, Microsoft Office Excel and SPSS. We used descriptive statistics and Mann-Whitney test to verify hypotheses for two independent samples. Results: We have found that students of nursing and engineering are on average assertive. The average value of assertiveness was 12,9. It belongs into category of slightly assertive (values from +1 to +20). The degree of assertiveness did not diverge significantly, nor by gender, nor the course of the study. The average value of assertiveness at men was 16,8; while at women 10,5; which is lower, but still belongs into category of slightly assertive. The average value of assertiveness at nursing students was 9,75; while at engineering students 16,3. But still, both values belong in the same category, of slightly assertive. Conclusion: The concept of communication and assertiveness should be included in all study programs in Slovenia. The concept of communication is such a wide and inevitable concept that would completely infiltrate in every study program.
