Abstract

Secondary title: Numerical simulation of boiling heat transfer in a narrow pipe
Secondary abstract: Due to complex geometries and limited contact surfaces which are available for heat transfer in various cooling systems, computational fluid dynamic (CFD) is very important for their development. Company AVL is adding to their commercial program package AVL FIRE a module which allows you to simulate heat transfer between solid and fluid domain including boiling phenomena. The module is based on single-phase boiling using BDL model. In Diploma two such a simulations are presented, one made in FIRE and one made with coupling two programs FIRE and Abaqus. Both simulations are based on the same geometry, boiling model and the same boundary conditions. From the results of simulations, a significant difference in computed temperatures can be seen.
