Abstract

V diplomskem delu smo najprej opisali področje bibliometrije in vizualizacije podatkov ter pregledali obstoječe sisteme, ki so namenjeni vizualizaciji bibliometričnih podatkov. Nato smo predstavili tehnologije in programske jezike, ki smo jih uporabili pri praktični izvedbi začrtanega modela. Sledi razlaga tehnične strukture implementacije, kjer smo razložili način delovanja kode za pridobivanje in obdelavo podatkov, implementacijo ter funkcionalnost grafov. Obenem smo pri vsakem tipu vizualizacije argumentirali vzrok za izbiro le-te ter ocenili prednosti in slabosti. V zadnjem poglavju smo predstavili celoten postopek izdelave diplomske naloge, od ideje do implementacije.

Secondary abstract: The thesis begins with definition of bibliometrics and data visualization, followed by a review of existing bibliometric data visualization systems. Next chapter deals with the technologies and programming languages used for the practical implementation of the outlined model. The chapter covering the technical aspects of the implementation interprets the source code for acquiring and handling the data and implementation of charts and their functionalities. Each type of visualisation used in the project is assessed for both its strengths and weaknesses. The final chapter describes the entire process - from forming the hypothesis to the actual implementation of the web application.
