Abstract

V diplomskem delu predstavimo izbrane koncepte programskega jezika kotlin. Opišemo njegove prednosti, slabosti in primerjamo koncepte s programskim jezikom java. Največ poudarka je predvsem na opisu osnovnih konceptov, kot so podatkovni tipi, operatorji, funkcije in razredi. Za potrebe primerjave jezikov na kratko opišemo tudi algoritma urejanja, urejanje z navadnim vstavljanjem in Shellovo urejanje. V praktičnem delu primerjamo algoritma urejanja v programskem jeziku kotlin in java ter z meritvami primerjamo hitrost delovanja.

Secondary abstract: In this diploma thesis selected concepts of the Kotlin programming language are presented. Its advantages and disadvantages are described, and Kotlin is compared to the concepts of the Java programming language. The emphasis is placed on the description of basic concepts, such as data types, operators, functions and classes. For the purposes of language comparison, the sorting algorithms with insertion and shell sort are briefly described. In the practial part the sorting algorithms in the Kotlin and Java programming languages are compared. With the help of measurments the operating speeds of both programming languages are compared as well.
