diplomsko delo na študijskem programu Promet
Abstract

THE IMPACT OF MATERIAL AND DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS OF ROAD BARRIERS ON VIBRATIONS INDUCED BY TRAFFIC |
Secondary abstract: |
Road humps or bumps have a physical impact on traffic calming and cause lowering of driving speeds. Dimensions and use of road humps are defined in the technical specifications of the Directorate RS for Roads. In Slovenia we are witnessing an ever larger scale installation of bumps in various designs, which affect the induced vibrations caused by traffic. Due to the impact of the dynamic forces of wheels on the supporting surface, by spreading underground and over long distances, vibrations slowly lose their intensity. To assess the potential harmful effects of ground vibrations on people and facilities it is crucial to determine the spread of vibration to the ground and transfer to the facilities. We have identified vibration and compared the impact of various road humps, shapes and material of the vertical component of the ground vibrations at the fundamental level of the facility and their impact on a human body and living space. |
