Abstract

Radijski formati oziroma formatne radijske postaje so na slovenskem radijskem trgu neznanka oziroma prej izjema kot pravilo. Zakon o medijih, tako obstoječi kot novi predlog, formatnih radijskih postaj ne predvideva, ampak jih tudi ne prepoveduje. Radijskih formatov ne smemo zamenjati za programsko shemo določene radijske postaje, saj so radijski formati v tujini znani tudi kot marketinško orodje določene radijske postaje, ki s pomočjo le teh privablja oglaševalce in cilja na določeno skupino poslušalcev. Gre za pojav, ki je popularen predvsem v Združenih državah Amerike, kjer poznajo več kot sedemdeset radijskih formatov. To je teorija, v praksi pa je skoraj nemogoče postaviti formatno radijsko postajo, saj je potrebno v glasbeno shemo vključiti zahtevan odstotek slovenske glasbe, pri čemer pa skoraj vsi radijski formati odpadejo.

Secondary abstract: Format radio stations are unknown subject or rather an exception on the Slovenian radio market. Media Act, both the existing and the new proposal, does not provide format radio station, but it also does not forbit them. Radio formats should not be confused with the programs of certain radio stations, as radio formats are well known abroad as a marketing tool for specific radio stations, which use them to attract advertisers and target a particular group of listeners. This is a phenomenon that is particularly popular in the Unites States, where more than seventy radio formats is known. This is the theory, in practice it is almost impossible to run a format radio station in Slovenia, as percentage of Slovenian music is required to air during the day.
