Abstract

V namen poučevanja in seznanitve pacientov s kronično nenalezljivimi boleznimi so v Sloveniji uvedli referenčne ambulante, v katerih diplomirana medicinska sestra deluje zdravstvenovzgojno.

Secondary title: TREATMENT OF A PATIENT WITH OSTEOPOROSIS IN REFERENCE AMBULANCE
Secondary abstract: Theoretical background: Osteoporosis is often a hidden disease because it doesn’t show any signs until a fracture. It affects areas of the skeleton where it reduces the quantity of bone density, while increasing the risk of fractures. Most people are still not sufficiently aware of the disease itself, which is reflected in the increase in osteoporotic fractures worldwide. The purpose of teaching the patients with chronic diseases are introduced in Slovenia reference clinics where nurses are working on medical education. The purpose of the thesis was to explain the role of the nurses when treating a patient with osteoporosis in reference clinic, and a survey to determine the awareness of patients about osteoporosis and patient satisfaction with the course work in the reference clinic. Research Methodology: For the thesis we used the descriptive method. The survey was based on a quantitative methodology. To obtain the data we have produced a questionnaire, which consisted of 17 questions, of which 2 are half open, 3 open and 12 closed questions. The study involved 30 people with osteoporosis, which were treated in reference clinic. Results: The analysis of the study showed a good awareness of the respondents about osteoporosis, as 90% of a sufficiently informed about their disease. All respondents are aware and taking measures to prevent the progression of osteoporosis. 80% of respondents are very satisfied with the treatment and consulting from nurses in reference clinic. Conclusion: For the purpose of informing people and the prevention of osteoporosis and management of chronic diseases Slovenia started operating the reference ambulance. The clinic of family medicine has gained an additional member of the healthcare team. Nurses, who are suitably qualified with proper education, guide the patients and counseling them with appropriate guidance in the treatment process. An effective healing process requires close cooperation of the patient, nurses and doctor.
